MAKE THAT MOVE
Action orientation is still the culminating step to success. No matter how grand the task or how bogus the concept and plan, without ultimate action orientation the idea only remains on paper and waste paper is only good for shredding. Abiodun Mabadeje has done a very beautiful job trying to remind and encourage this generation to take action on your dreams. As you read this book, I do hope you’ll receive encouragement and boldness to step out in faith, so that life will line up for you. Thanks Mabadeje. I must say you are a guy to watch out for. I have a strong feeling you’ll lead a revolution of some sort in this generation. All the best! Dr. Chris Williams Snr. Pastor, The Headstone Church TABLE OF CONTENT DEDICATION 5 FOREWORD 7 INTRODUCTION 9 Chapter 1 – No Question, No Life 11 Chapter 2 – Three Options 17 Chapter 3 – Make that Move 27 Chapter 4 – Action Quotes 31 About the Author 35 CHAPTER 1 NO QUESTION, NO LIFE “If you ask a question you will be a fool for five minutes, but if you fail to ask a question you will be a fool for the rest of your life.” – Chinese Proverb Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die? If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we shall die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.” And they arose at twilight to go to the camp to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there.’” – II Kings 7:3 – 5 It is important you take note of the question these guys asked, “Why are we sitting here until we die?” If we turn this question to a statement it would read something like this, “We are going to die if we continue to sit here.” Until you get dissatisfied with your present state, you are not ready for a change of state – promotion. There are some changes that come upon you whether you want them or not, but there are some that you must initiate or else your heart will only continue to palpitate. This sometimes may not be physical, but could be a mental shift that will eventually culminate in a physical change. “Discontent is the first necessity of progress.” - Thomas Edison These men came to a point where they knew that is they didn’t do something fast about their condition they were going to die of hunger. Let me pose a question to you. Are you dissatisfied with your present condition or you are just contended with the status quo? Have you come to a point where you have accepted your circumstance as your final outcome? One thing I quickly want to draw your attention to is the fact that, “Why are we sitting here until we die?” was the question that began the process of the miracle experienced by these four lepers. And which was eventually translated to that which the whole of Samaria experienced and enjoyed. I have come to realize that a life that is devoid of questions is a life devoid of answers. What questions are you asking yourself? What questions are asking people? And to a large extent, which questions are you asking God? Remember Your School Days. You see, you can’t afford to underestimate the power and importance of questions in your life. Questions and promotions are like Siamese twins, they go hand-in-hand. When you see the former, the latter is close by. Let me explain. When you were a student, and I am sure you that at some point in your life you attended some form of school or schooling program and you wrote exams. What you were asked in your exams were questions. Supplying the correct answers guaranteed you promotion at the end of the session to the next class or else you would not have gone through school successfully. Do you now agree with me that questions and promotions go together? Sometimes too, life will ask us questions with challenges and negative situations. But where most people have difficulty is when it comes to asking questions of/from life. Every miracle you experience starts with a question. “I don’t have enough money” is a fact; that is life asking you question. “Why don’t I have enough money?” “How can I raise more so that I can have enough?” These are questions you must ask in order to stimulate your mind to begin to work and find the answers to solve the problem of not having enough money. Anthony Robbins in his book, Awaken the Giant Within, said, “The quality of your life is directly proportional to the quality of questions you ask yourself and others around you.” He also said, “When you ask the right question you will find the right answer.” Remember our Chinese proverb at the opening of the chapter? Go back and read it. I mean you can’t overemphasize the importance of questions in your quest to lead a successful and fruitful life. They (i.e. questions) are the foundation upon which answers find their footing. In rounding off this chapter, nothing seems more oppressing, and farther from the truth than a question that has no answer to it, or more perplexing than a situation that seems to defile all solutions. There are answers to all questions, just as there are solutions to all problems. Keep asking those questions with the mind of finding their corresponding answers and I assure you that in no distant future light will break forth and ‘Eureka’, that is your answer.
